In my nearly four decades of experience in the financial realm. I have found that as much can be garnered from boots-on-the-ground relationships, physical conversations with practitioners, and analysis as sitting behind a desk reading reports. In terms of evolving trends, even more. For instance, in one quarter as an investment banker, I met with a dozen central banks in the Asian-Pacific region. That trip gave me a tremendous background for analysis and actionable ideas for decades. In this case, I shot that footage in London right before the British government announced a budget that would create a steeper UK yield curve, support BOE rate cuts, and bolster parts of the British banking system, all of which I covered, along with actionable ideas in about two minutes.
