When I hear Jim Rickards explain the administration’s economic plan, it seems to make sense to me. Why doesn’t President Trump explain this to the American people instead of just calling as opponents names and degrading them?

The US Semiconductor business was destroyed by our own MBA's. Anytime there was a slow down they laid off all their talent and halted investment dollars. Japan didn't and overtook our industries. Taiwan competes against the Japanese NOT the US. Rickards is incorrect about government IP, it's freely available to corporate America. The other mistake is the assumption that global creditors will flock to invest into the US. In the past, most of our industries were SELF funded (Ford, GE, etc). Our debt is not isolated to the federal government, it is everywhere (corporate, individuals). Couple this with a falling dollar makes it EXTREMELY risky for foreign investors. Lastly, China is nearing the end of a recession, Europe is entering a recession, the US will be in recession in the not distant future. Recessions are not investment opportunities.

Jim Rickards should also explain the poor economic performance of TSMC's US factories (impacted margins by over 100 basis points)
